The company
Willow Processing set out to modernise a very traditional industry: loan processing. Their goal was to process loans faster than the competition while giving borrowers, loan officers, and brokers a smooth experience.
The challenge
Loan processing is a complex, multi-stakeholder workflow where deadlines are critical and accuracy is non-negotiable. Run on spreadsheets or paper, it’s slow and error-prone.
When Willow first contacted us, they were trying to finish an ambitious Monday.com system and had hit a wall — using Integromat (now Make) to paper over Monday’s limitations. We spent several hours extending that build, then had an honest conversation about where it was heading and what Monday itself could and couldn’t do.
The solution
Rather than keep bending Monday to fit, we used the concepts Willow had already worked out and rebuilt the app from scratch on Knack — a genuine relational database and no-code app builder. Knack isn’t as hyped as Airtable, Bubble or Monday, but it’s robust, and it was the right platform here.
Instead of compromising all day with a one-size-fits-all tool, Willow got an app built 100% around their process. Along the way we:
- Cut costly third-party apps such as Box.com out of the stack
- Added features that weren’t in the original scope, including processor payroll
- Used Make for the advanced logic that power-charges Knack
After six weeks the app was exceeding expectations and ready to go live. We trained Willow’s staff so they can tweak and extend it themselves — so it keeps getting better without depending on us.
“We can’t speak highly enough about Loic and his contribution to our company. Making the decision to switch to Knack and Make changed everything for us. We now have an open system capable of sending and receiving data from anywhere — this is now the primary way that we compete and win business. No one else I talk to has gotten more value at a better price.”
